Sandra & Bill's Science Museum of Virginia wedding featured pops of turquoise and a gorgeous orange that perfectly matched the brilliant fall leaves.

Bill and Sandra met through an online dating app. And it's impossible not to see their love for each other by the glowing smiles they offer each other.  While on a trip to Sedona, Bill planned for them to go on a guided hike where he proposed to Sandra at the top of the mountain around sunset. It was an absolutely picture-perfect proposal!

On their wedding day, the fall leaves were almost at their peak. The brilliant fall foliage made for a beautiful pop of color!  Their wedding colors of turquoise and orange brought bursts of color with the autumn background their wedding day provided.

Their day was filled with endless emotion right from the beginning. Sandra read a sweet letter from her groom and teared up with happy tears threatening to spill out and disturb her bridal makeup. (Have no fear —her makeup team had obviously prepared for this possibility!) Sandra had a sweet photo of her father attached to her bouquet. And absolute joy swept over the couple's faces every time one of the toddlers in their wedding party appeared on the scene. The couple enjoyed the kiddos' antics so much and would scoop them into a hug or laugh as they danced with them.

The couple walked down the aisle together for their ceremony at the beautiful Saint Michael Catholic Church, where they proclaimed their love and commitment to each other in front of their family and friends.

After taking photos, we headed to their reception at the Science Museum of Virginia. The Science Museum wedding venue is such an excellent place for a wedding reception, and I was very excited for us to shoot Sandra & Bill's wedding reception there.

The historic building originally served as a train station and features a vast Rotunda with vaulted ceilings, columns, moldings, arched windows, alcoves, and a Foucault pendulum gently swinging in the background. It's an architectural gem and was designed by renowned architect John Russell Pope. He also designed the Jefferson Memorial and National Archives in Washington, DC, as well as the beautiful Branch House, the Tudor mansion on Monument Avenue in Richmond, which now houses the Branch Museum of Architecture and Design. Thanks to Pope's extensive studies in Europe, Sandra and Bill's portraits show several backdrops that transport you to France or Italy!

It was such a pleasure to photograph Bill and Sandra's Science Museum of Virginia wedding! We are so thankful to have been a part of their beautiful wedding day!
